This guide will walk you through how to view and download donor details from your fundraiser page while keeping donor preferences and data protection top of mind.
Step-by-step: how to access donor information
Here’s how you can view and download donor data from your fundraiser:
- Log in to your LaunchGood account. Head to launchgood.com/login and log in with your fundraiser account.
- Go to your fundraiser page and click on the “Donors” tab
- Select “Download report” and choose to download your donor list in either:
- CSV format
- Excel format
- Before downloading, you’ll be prompted to agree to our terms of use. Review and accept our Data Management Policy.
Important privacy rules
- Marketing emails require consent
- Only send promotional or fundraising emails to donors who have opted in. Consent is not optional.
- Tax receipt and Gift Aid data is off-limits
- Donor information collected for tax receipts or Gift Aid is for administrative use only. It cannot be used for marketing. Check out How to obtain gift aid report.
- Respect all opt-outs
- If a donor has chosen not to receive marketing, do not contact them—no exceptions.
Respecting donor privacy
Here’s what’s okay—and what’s not:
- ✅ You may reach out to donors with thank-you notes or updates only if they’ve opted into marketing communications.
- ❌ You may not use donor data for outreach or fundraising if they have not given consent.
Check the “Marketing consent” column (Column H) in your report:
Yes = The donor has opted in and can be contacted.
No = The donor has not consented and must not be contacted for marketing or fundraising purposes.
What counts as “marketing communication”?
If a donor has opted in, you can contact them with:
- Requests to donate again
- Invitations to join monthly giving programs or referrals
- Updates about new or related fundraisers
If they haven’t opted in—please don’t reach out for these purposes.
